In furtherance of its objective of promoting the business of leasing in Nigeria, ELAN in conjunction with Lagos Multi-Door Court Hoise (LMDC), the first court connected ADR centre in Africa, recently held a sensitisation forum on alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
The programme was held on Tuesday, 11th February 2025 to facilitate knowledge of ADR, promote and adopt it to enhance the speedy resolution of disputes in lease transactions.
In the presentation, LMDC stressed that the benefits of ADR Mechanisms which include techniques such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration and early neutral evaluation, seeks to settle conflicts efficiently, cost-efficiently and with less formality than litigation.
Accordingly, members of ELAN were advised to explore ADR mechanism in resolving conflicts with customers.
