The Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria was established in 1983, primarily to promote the business of leasing. Over the years, the Association has been engaged in various activities in furtherance of its objectives.
Today, ELAN is regarded as the sole authority on leasing in Nigeria and has equally earned considerable recognition from the global leasing industry, through its quantitative lease training and advisory programmes.

The Association has three categories of membership:
Corporate Membership – These are organisations carrying on the business of equipment leasing consisting of Banks, Finance Houses, Independent Leasing Companies, Vendors, Insurance Companies.
