Andrew Emonuwa – Executive Secretary/CEO
Andrew Emonuwa is a Lawyer, Leasing expert, Chartered Secretary, Mediator, and Arbitrator, and currently serves as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria (ELAN).
Since joining ELAN in 1993, he has played a pivotal role in the growth and institutional development of both the Association and Nigeria’s leasing industry. He was instrumental in the restructuring of the Secretariat, including its legal transformation in 1994, and was a key member of the technical team that facilitated the enactment of the Equipment Leasing Act 2015. He continues to engage relevant stakeholders to support the effective implementation of the Act, with the objective of enhancing the contribution of leasing to Nigeria’s economic development.
Mr Emonuwa possesses extensive experience in lease financing, policy development, and industry capacity building. As a member of ELAN’s training faculty, he has designed and delivered numerous capacity-building programmes for leasing practitioners and other industry stakeholders…
His expertise extends beyond Nigeria, having supported leasing development initiatives across several African countries, including Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Morocco, and Ethiopia. He served as a Consultant to the Development Bank of Ethiopia (2019) and to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on leasing market development projects, including programmes for Waliya Capital Goods Finance Business Share Company, Ethiopia (2023), Somaliland (2015), Sierra Leone (2011), Liberia (2011), and Rwanda (2008).
He has contributed significantly to regional industry integration, serving as a member of the team that established the African Leasing Association (AFROLEASE) in 2004, and later as a Technical Committee Member of the African Leasing Federation in 2017. He has also represented Nigeria at various international leasing engagements, including leading the Nigerian delegation to the International Leasing Conference in Morocco in 2017.
Mr Emonuwa has authored, on behalf of ELAN, several authoritative publications on leasing, including Lease Financing in Nigeria, 2022; The Nigerian Leasing Guide (2020); Equipment Leasing and Practice in Nigeria: A Complete Guide (2022); and Legal Aspects of Equipment Leasing in Nigeria: A Practical Approach (2025).
Ifeyinwa Chibuogwu – Lead, Business Development & Corporate Services
A graduate of Mass Communication from the Institute and Management Technology, Enugu. She leads the Association’s membership management and communications functions including membership expansion, retention and promoting lease value propositions to stakeholders through lease awareness campaign and engagement.
